Amazing Sandy Lam Concert -- so Sandy!!!

*picture was taken by Kelly's friend

"Come as you are, be what you are" is the theme of Sandy's concert this time. And this is indeed a concert that really puts 'MUSIC' to the centre of everything.

"Star Hall" is the venue that Sandy is holding her concert, the feeling was like going to the new convention centre at WanChai, but as the concert starts, I found that the music effect is much better than the other halls.

The stage set up is pretty simple and with a big white screen at the back , giving me a feeling of getting into an art centre or designer gallery. The visual of this concert is PERFECT, and combines with her angelic perfect voice and the great performance of the band and background vocal. This is just superb!!

This is a very very different concert compare to the other HK singers, which I would say is 'uncomparable'. Sandy did not say a single word other than 'Thank You' and throughout the whole concert she had only changed her outfit ONCE. Not a single dancer was hired but with her own movement in every single song I could just feel she had the total control of the show and she's just so sexy, charming and charismatic!

The concert had splitted into 2 halves, first half is more with jazz & blues; whereas the 2nd half will be more electronics like the fashion show music. Very cosmopolitan & metropolitan, which really coincides with Sandy's image since the very beginning. As everybody knows fans are crazy about her fast songs, and enjoyed her dancing a lot. The only dance beat song she sang that night was '逃離鋼筋森林', we just went all crazy and stood up to dance and sing with her. The atmoshpere was just so perfect.

The selection of songs was really 'advanturous' as she claimed herself to be. 80% of the songs were never been sung in any previous concerts. And for the ones that had appeared in other previous concerts, she had given EVEYR SINGLE ONE of those songs with new arrangement and new feeling. '走在大街的女子' was backed up with 6 different tracks of her own voices, which gives me goose bump and the new arrangment of '哭' had given me a big surprised and brand new feeling, and with the song '天衣無縫' I had got myself watery eyes. The last song that she sang was the opening song of her last album 'S/L', that was a song dedicated to her old friend Richard Lam Chun Keung. Her voice was so angelic with just 'LA~~~' throughout the song and it was indeed SOOOO touching!

The ONLY thing that I didn't think was necessary was the piano playing part, but I think as long as that's Sandy's own idea and she wanted to it, then I'm happy. In fact.. if the theme is 'TO BE WHAT YOU ARE', then I'm sure playing the piano is definitely her own willingness to do so.

Once again, the band was excellent, the drum/the base/2 grand pianos/cello/ violin/pipa/erhu/chinese flute/purcussion and the 3 background vocals were really with international standard. Excellent musicians, probably as my friend said, Patrick Lui was already the worse one in the whole band.

One thing that really amazed me was that there was a blonde girl in the background vocal, I was wondering how she could do the background vocal in cantonese?!? haha interesting!!

By reading the credits from on the 2nd last song, I found that the the visual effects, stage design, stage production, all these stuffs were recruited from Japan with Japanese professionals. Music director of course to be by Anthony Lun, but the band leader was Mac Chew whom had been doing Sandy's album for many years and I had already loved his composition and arrangment. '感覺完美', '夜太黑' these 2 album were having Mac Chew highly involved and I really loved these 2 albums.

This concert is not for people who are having the same set of mind to see Andy Lau concert, no mainstream songs at all, no erotic dances (though I think her body movement on those jazzy/blues song were so sexy), no karaoke songs, no fashion show, no special guests. But it's something very inspiring and unforgetable.

I would say it's a 10/10 concert and it's really amazing and I'm so glad that Sandy had brought HK something so different and she really could be called DIVA.

All I wanna say is.. Sandy 你好o野.. 你夠型!
